Meet Wolf

Black Gelding, 15 H, DOB: 2021

Training Level V

Update July 2024: We are excited to introduce Wolf, a remarkable gelding from the Onaqui Herd Management Area (HMA) in Utah, who will soon be available for adoption.

Wolf is a three-year-old (born in 2021), 15-hand black gelding with a personality that truly stands out. He is one of the most laid-back mustangs we have had the pleasure of training and his playful, silly nature never fails to bring a smile to our faces.

In addition to his charming personality, Wolf gets along well with other horses and is particularly playful with his herd mates. He also loves the company of people and enjoys the interaction and attention he receives.

Wolf excels in the arena but truly comes alive on the trail. With his ears pointed forward and a confident stride, he is always ready for his next adventure. His enthusiasm and readiness make him fun to ride and a fantastic companion for anyone looking for a young yet gentle horse.

We believe Wolf has a bright future ahead and will make a wonderful addition to any home. If you or someone you know is looking for a new equine friend, keep an eye out for Wolf, he will be available for adoption soon.

Wolf, named after the Wolf Moon, was born wild in Utah's Onaqui Mountain Herd Management Area in 2020. In 2021, despite the successful implementation of humane fertility control measures to manage population growth, Blaze and his herd were rounded up in a helicopter stampede by the Bureau of Land Management. Blaze was one of 435 wild horses forcibly removed and sent to a government holding facility, joining more than 65,000 other wild horses and burros in captivity.
